The History of Cheap Shit 

In the 1960’s thru 1980’s things made in Japan where Cheap Shit, but things changed in the late 80’s and Japan began to make things quite well many superior to alot of goods.

In the 1980’s thru 1990’s things made in Taiwan where Cheap Shit, but things changed in the late 90’s and Taiwan began to make things quite well and many superior to alot of goods. Boker, Smith & Wesson, Schrade, CRKT, Kershaw all have knives made in Taiwan, which by 2010 standards are made quite superior to others.

In the 2000’s thru 2010’s things made in China where Cheap Shit and many things still are the junk you see at Walmart everyday. However things are changing, many knife companies are now manufacturing in China such as Gerber, Kershaw, United Cutlery and many more and things are to a good standard as of 2010. Yes they are inferior to American Made items that is for sure.

 The point is that with progression of industry standards do improve with things over time but you are still left with issues of ethics & morality don’t forget.

 Things made in China are garbage alot of the time but I have a higher quality expectation on the products that I stock than other sellers do and I charge much less for these products.  

Things made in Taiwan are quite good they take pride in their work and most are guaranteed by the factory.

German craftsmanship is pure skill and mechanics.

Italian made is an art form.

Just because a company has an American name like: Smith & Wesson, Schrade, Kershaw, CRKT, SOG, and many others, the name is American but the items they produce most of the time are made outside the US.

Don’t be fooled by an American Name !!!

Just because your grandfather and father carried a knife with an American Name does not mean the knives made by these companies are the same thing today.

Alot of American Company Names have been sold off in the bankruptcies of the US knife companies and foreign companies simply use the name because of name notoriety to market goods to the ignorant American public.

There is also the fact that in the US whomever touches the product last to assemble it constitutes the company being able to put Made in the USA on the item even though the materials were from a foreign country and the parts also machined overseas.

To complicate matters even further some of the big knife companies use illegal immigrants to do the assembly work on their items that made in the US. 

So you have foreign materials used, these materials are machined in foreign countries, and then assembled in the US by illegal immigrants and then all sold under the Made in the USA

This does not mean that the products are not well made or that they are good, but it does bring into question the morality and ethics of these companies that do such practices
