Designed by Tapio Wirkkala designed on the basis of butterfly knife.
Made by Pertemet LTD in Sorsakoski, Finland.
The CIA supplied its very own operatives and special units of the Vietnamese Friendlies with these knives during the Vietnam War
Imported into the U.S. by Garcia as "Hackman Camp Knife"
Handles are Red Composite and Marked "Sorsakoski Finland"

Pertemet Sorsakoski and Hackman Balisong Butterfly Are The Exact Same Knife.
Sorsakoski is the town where Hackman Group moved its production in the 1890's.

Pertemet is a Steel Company in Sorsakoski.
So The Pertemet Oy Company and the Hackman Group Are Business Partners.
And as far as I have gathered this model has a better blade steel and polished blade where as the Hackman marked models don't.
The Pertemet Sorsakoski are much rarer models to find and locate.
The real CIA model were marked RETKI
The knife was marketed by Hackman as "retkiveitsi", loosely translated as "camping knife".
